JSMC Retreat 2026
Rosensäle, Fürstengraben 27, 07743 Jena
We are pleased to invite you to the upcoming JSMC Retreat 2026!
This is the first retreat since 2015 and will offer an opportunity for members across all career stages to come together, exchange ideas, discuss current and future activities of our Graduate School, and strengthen our academic community. Through a combination of presentations, discussions, team-building activities, and networking opportunities, we hope to foster collaboration and encourage meaningful interactions across disciplines and research groups.
The retreat will include the official inauguration of our new spokesperson, Prof. Thilo Figge, by the president of the FSU, our annual award ceremony, publication presentations, a World Café, team building activities, workshops for PhDs and postdocs, a panel discussion on alternative careers, and much more!
For the full program spanning these three days, please see the preliminary program.
We also warmly invite you to join us for a community dinner at the Botanical Gardens starting at 6 pm on the evening of the first day (Thursday, July 16). The dinner will provide a relaxed setting to continue conversations, connect with colleagues, and celebrate the diversity and achievements of our Graduate School community. Kindly indicate your dietary preferences during registration.
