Jena Alliance Life in Focus course: Writing cover letters for job applications

The blank page is an intimidating adversary, especially when filling it with the right content may stand between you and getting that exciting next job that is going to propel your career upwards. To help you overcome this struggle, we are launching a workshop on writing cover letters for job applications that will be delivered by our JSMC manager Hendrik Huthoff.

In this workshop you will:

1. Identify key information from job advertisements to structure your letter
2. Learn the basic dos and don'ts of cover letter writing
3. Draft and edit a cover letter for a job advert of your own choice
4. In the end you will have solid cover letter that you can adjust to future job applications

The workshop will start with an introductory zoom meeting on Friday the 6th of November at 14:00 to 15:00, followed by at least two individual online meetings at approximately one week intervals and a collective closing session.

Participation is limited to 6 people and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
