Travel Grant Awardees - Anna Visits Her Mentor

Within the frame of the JSMC Mentoring Program I had the opportunity to visit my mentor Swantje Behnken and her team at Bayer in Leverkusen. It was amazing to visit the
Chempark and see the different types of labs and facilities available to the Bayer team. But what impressed me the most was the welcoming atmosphere and everyone taking so much time to answer my questions. Connecting with so many new and interesting people was amazing!

I am particularly grateful for all the valuable experiences and career advice shared by these experts and group leaders. Huge thanks to the Jena School for Microbial Communication as
well for making this possible by implementing a mentoring program and for funding my visit with a JSMC Travel Grant. This visit really made me ready and excited to tackle my next professional transition from academics to industry!
