Launch of the New Mentoring Programs for Early Career Researchers
We introduce three tailored Mentoring Programs designed to support early career scientists at different stages.
Intercultural Peer Mentoring:
Developed to support international PhD candidates in adapting to life in Germany, this program pairs mentees with German peer scientists for informal guidance. With personalized matchings and engaging in-person events, this 6-month initiative fosters natural integration and valuable connections. Mentors earn 3 credit points and a certificate.
Doctoral Peer Mentoring:
PhD candidates seeking support during their early career can now apply for our Postdoctoral Peer Mentoring Program. Designed to assist candidates through what can be a challenging phase, this initiative pairs mentees with experienced postdoctoral mentors. The program, open to PhD candidates throughout their research, offers flexible support tailored to individual needs. Matchings will be based on questionnaires, with communication via preferred method. Mentors will be provided with an optional professional mentoring-training and receive a certificate, enhancing their leadership skills.
Postdoctoral Career Mentoring:
Designed to support postdocs in their career development, this program pairs mentees with national and international senior mentors from diverse backgrounds (such as academia, industry, management or legal officials). Matching is based on questionnaire results and mentor availability, with mentees receiving guidance, insights, and tools tailored to their profession. Feedback rounds are scheduled every 3 months, with the first round of this program set to launch in June of 2024.
