Softskill Program

The soft skill training is based on the scientific education doctoral researchers receive and is closely linked to the microbiological education provided within the JSMC to support career development.

Doctoral researchers can choose from a comprehensive range of transferable skill courses and seminars provided by the JSMC, the Microverse Cluster, the Jena Graduate Academy or other research institutions in Jena
Language courses such as German as a foreign language or scientific English are provided centrally by the FSU
Teaching is credited to support teamwork and to provide a basis for future teaching responsibilities
Communication of research results to the public is strongly encouraged and credited. We have a strong tradition of participating in events like the Long Night of Sciences and STEM initiatives for secondary schools
